On a rainy but undeterred Friday evening, many guests gathered at the T.2 Gallery, located in the Žemųjų Panerių district of Vilnius. Artist Vera Blansh had just returned from Japan, where she had been creating and exhibiting her works, and in Vilnius, she presented a selection of pieces brought from Kyiv. Some of these works she completed in Lithuania — in the workshops of the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
The exhibition curator, Veronika Synenka, noted during the presentation that Vera Blansh is an interdisciplinary artist who works with both painting and ceramics, making her creative range exceptionally broad.
Vera Blansh began her career in photography, and at the outbreak of the war, she worked as a frontline photographer. The artist says it is important for her to speak to the world about what is happening in her country, and the best way to do that is through art — where her personal experiences intersect with the collective experience of a nation suffering through war.
The exhibition “Valkyrie” will run until July 19.
